Canadian Freshwater Aquaculture Conference

Mark your calendars for the first-ever Canadian Freshwater Aquaculture Conference, an expanded version of the OAA’s annual event.

Leaders from across Canada’s freshwater aquaculture sector, including farmers, researchers, suppliers, and government partners, will gather in Muskoka for two days of knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and connection. The conference will showcase advancements in freshwater aquaculture, highlight innovations, explore multiple species, and strengthen industry networks.

  • Economics of What We Eat

    March 25, 2026

    Dr. Balagtas will explore the current landscape of what we eat and what that means for our health, with a particular focus on the growing scrutiny of ultra-processed foods and the impact of GLP-1 drugs. Simple economics, data, and lessons from the history of food and nutrition policy will be used to reflect on the promise and pitfalls of public policy aimed at improving consumer choices.
