There is a growing disconnect between the innovations being developed and researched and the practical concerns and direction of the target industry. With the fast-paced nature of the agriculture industry, it is easy for researchers to lose sight of the changing needs and challenges of the industry. Our Getting Research Into Practice (GRIP) podcast aims to help identify where the heart of the disconnect may lie and how to improve communication and partnership.
The Livestock Research Innovation Corporation (LRIC) is a not-for-profit organization with a focus on cultivating and encouraging innovation and research for the livestock value chain. However, innovation is most successful when industry and academia work together. Therefore, we have developed this podcast to improve the knowledge transfer between industry and researchers by interviewing researchers and industry professionals across agriculture sectors who have successfully applied research and innovations in their field. Listen in as we ask some of the industry’s burning questions to find out what makes a successful innovation and what barriers are preventing the adoption of others.
