Seeking an alternative to soy in swine diets

The pork industry in the German state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania has joined forces to find alternatives to soy protein- most of it imported from South America – in swine rations. The image of imported soy is not positive in Germany, which has consequences for the pork industry. Researchers are focusing on lupin crops, peas and fava beans.
